Are you the scientific type and want to know more? Read below about the State-of-the-art, advanced equipment used and the extensive type of testing only Young Living conducts:
*Gas Chromatography (GC): Separates and measures the percentage of plant biochemical constituents (usually 100-500 in number) in the essential oil.
*Refractive Index: Measures the average type of molecular bonds for biochemical constituents in the essential oil*Specific Gravity: Measures how heavy (dense) the essential oil is compared to water.
*Optical Rotation: Measures the average chiral orientation of molecules in the essential oil.
*Flash Point: Measures the combustible “flash” temperature of the essential oil Testing Done by Research for All Essential Oils
*Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectroscopy (GC-MS): The GC separates the plant biochemical volatile constituents. The MS enables greater identificant on the main constituents by name, but not all. The MS breaks the compounds with electron impact into many different pieces to match the corresponding compound found in the chemical library of 200,000 compounds attached to the instrument.
*Chiral Gas Chromatography: Separates and determines the percentage of chiral molecules in the essential oil. Chiral: Left-handed and right-handed oriented of molecules.
*Solid-phase microextraction (SPME): Small, handheld device is used for extracting a small sample of essential oil vapors directly from plants. The device is then inserted into a GC or GC-MS to analyze the essential oil of the plant.
*High performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC): Separates and measures the percentage of water-soluble plant biochemical constituents and high molecular weight molecules in the EO.
Young Living has a unique process called, "Seed to Seal". This process goes far beyond any ordinary "organic" growing procedure. They only use the finest seeds, virgin soil, and they never uses chemical fertilizers, fungicides or herbicides.
They nourish the plants with fresh, pure mountain water, enzymes, essential oils, worm technology, organic manure fertilizer (that Young Living produces), and they even sing to their plants (and then study it to learn which music has the best results).
While other companies say their oils are good, Young Living essential oils are the preferred essential oil used in research studies across the globe.

The Passion
Young Living is the only company in the world that organically grows from seed, harvests, distills, formulates, packages, educates and distributes products with essential oils.
Their passion for helping, empowering, health & wellness is uncompromised in the world and their business practices. Young Living believes they are stewards of the earth and plants and that it is their mission to bring essential oils into every home in the world!
Every batch of essential oils received at Young Living's laboratories - whether grown at the Young Living farms or in a foreign country - is quarantined, inspected, and tested for purity and quality with both organoleptic and chemical analysis.
Samples are sent to independent laboratories for analysis by state-of-the-art, high-resolution gas chromatography, mass spectroscopy, and infrared spectra analysis. These tests unmask the chemical anatomy of each oil, helping to expose oils that may be unpure, adulterated, or even improperly distilled. Some oils are subjected to further levels of testing at labs in England, France and at Weber State University. Altogether, Young Living oils can go through five separate levels of quality analysis before they are released.
They only provide the best source of essentials oils and at the best value for their members. There is no other more "pure" product available on the market.
